What Does "Kulshan" Mean?
Kulshan was the original name for the strikingly beautiful mountain that dominates the skyline of our home city of Bellingham, and most of Whatcom County, Washington. The Lummi Indians near Bellingham Bay named it Kulshan, meaning "broken off." Presumably, they were referring to the frequent volcanic activity. Mt. Kulshan's name was changed by the British in 1792 and is now known as Mt. Baker. The mountain rises 10,778 feet above sea level. In 1999, Mt.Baker set the new world’s record for the most snowfall ever measured in a single season -- 1,140 inches.
About Kulshan Group
Kulshan Group was formed in the fall of 2003, as the next step in the development of a business spanning more than 20 years. Working as a Virtual Assistant even before the term existed, Cindi Pree assisted small businesses in many industries before returning to the real estate industry. In the fall of 2003, Cindi made the decision to use her experience as a loan secretary and title company escrow officer to focus her VA practice exclusively on Real Estate support.
The Kulshan Group team currently consists of two on-site members, as well as professional working relationships with other Virtual Assistants across the country.
Cindi Pree
Cindi's professional passion is two-fold:
1) Make processes that seem complicated and frustrating to those unfamiliar with them appear effortless;2) Help clients, friends, and acquaintances discover how their business can be more than they ever envisioned.
Cindi has more than 35 years experience as executive secretary, office manager, tech consultant, and small business owner. In addition to real estate, Cindi has experience with legal document preparation, small business management (including marketing and accounting), and tech consulting (database design, automated forms, templates, desktop publishing, and training).
Cindi is Certified as a Master Virtual Assistant and Master Transaction Coordinator. She is the Professional Development Coordinator of the REVA Network Board of Directors and is the Chair of the REVA Network Transaction Coordination Guild.
During her time not working, Cindi enjoys spending time with her son, 23, a CAD draftsperson and tech wizard and daughter, 17, who has a passion for theater. She also works with various local community organizations.

Joan Ging
Joan brings an expert level of tech skills and an artistic creativity together to propel clients towards success with efficiency and style.
With nearly a decade of professional experience, Joan has mastered a core set of marketing and tech skills essential to most businesses. She is accomplished in graphic design, web design, database programming and information architecture. She also has experience in strategic planning, publicity, editing and copywriting.
Much of Joan's real estate knowledge was acquired during the founding and development of a nine-home land trust. As chair of the organization she was heavily involved in drafting necessary legal documents, including the ground lease and CC&Rs. She also assisted in educating new homeowners on understanding their purchase contract and mortgage rights.
Joan has also been a small business owner, taught a variety of tech classes at a local community college, and has been an Administrative Assistant for many types of small businesses.
Outside of her work, Joan pursues photography and music composition, and myriad other hands-on hobbies. She delights in the company of her mother, a web developer, and boyfriend, an accomplished musician. She lives on Lummi Island and finds it a breathtakingly beautiful and rejuvenating place to make her home.
